With small creeks running through, and many original trees still in place, Black Mountain has held a number of significant tournaments over the years including the Asian PGA tour in 2009 and 2010, plus the Europe versus Asia match in 2011. All these have marked Black Mountain on the golfing circuit as it has become a major fixture destination. That being said it is also a very suitable for amateur golfers too as there is the choice of a safe or more complex route throughout.
