Bangkok’s most expensive home?

The super-luxury IconSiam development in Bangkok has revealed it will be home to Southeast Asia’s first Mandarin Oriental-branded residences, and with prices of up to THB 560,000 per sqm this is likely to be the most expensive new property to launch in the Thai capital so far.

Benefiting from a simultaneous launch in London, Hong Kong and Bangkok yesterday, The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok will be 146 super-luxury freehold riverside residences situated diagonally across the Chao Phraya River from the legendary Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok hotel.

The 52-floor building is located on the 20-acre IconSiam site – a US$ 1.54 billion riverside national landmark project being developed by a joint-venture partnership between Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited, Siam Piwat and Charoen Pokphand Group. IconSiam will also include two retail complexes and a spectacular waterfront promenade.

The Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok will provide management services for The Residences, as well as bespoke amenities for individual residents.

“No expense is being spared. We are investing US$250 million and spending more than 30 percent more per saleable square metre than the best of any residential offering in the city.”

“Every residence has an unobstructed view of the river and lush gardens, and offers a feeling of being close to nature as well as a unique sense of Thai charm,” she added.
