Surprise in top-five searches

Krung Thonburi was the surprised mover in the top five places that users of Thailand’s number one English language property portal were searching for properties to rent in Bangkok last week.

Despite the festive break the number of users searching Thailand-Property.com for Bangkok properties to rent increased during the week ending December 29, and again during the week ending January 4. Sukhumvit remained the most-searched rental location by users of the property portal – a position is retained for the entire month of December.

On Nut and Bang Na swapped second and third places during the final two weeks of 2015, Krung Thonburi jumped into the top five locations for the first time during the week ending January 4, while Ladprao (w/e December 29) and Ratchadamri (w/e January 4) occupied the fifth most-searched location in Bangkok for properties to rent.

Adam Sutcliffe, Managing Director of Thailand-Property.com, said the emergence of Krund Thonburi underlines the fact, once again, that Bangkok renters are looking further afield for their next rental property.

He said: “When you consider it takes around 20 minutes to get from Krung Thonburi into Siam, and rental prices can be as much as a third in this location, you can understand why people are looking here, and also in places like On Nut and Bang Na.

“That said, Sukhumvit still remains the number one choice for people searching for Bangkok property to rent, enforcing the fact that shorter commutes and being located in the centre of the city are still important for Bangkok renters.”

Thailand-Property.com is the number one English language property website in Thailand.
