Renters still searching for value

For the second consecutive week, On Nut led Bang Na in the race to be the most-searched locations for Bangkok properties to rent by users of Thailand’s number one English language property website.

The seven days ending yesterday saw Sukhumvit take third place, leapfrogging Ladprao in the process.

Sukhumvit has featured within the top five positions every week since Thailand-Property started publishing its search data for rentals in Bangkok at the start of December, while Ladprao has featured in five of the eight weekly reports.

Pathumwan – the area behind Siam Centre and bordered by Phayathai Road, Ratchadamri Road and Rama 4 Road – was a surprise entry in fifth place.

The website’s weekly rankings analysing data for the most-searched locations for rental properties in Bangkok is showing important trends.

Adam Sutcliffe, Managing Director of Dot Property (Thailand), said: “It’s possible that economic factors are influencing rental decisions more so this year, with tenants looking further from the centre of the city for lower prices at the expense of larger spaces and/or shorter commutes.0000

“The said, the appearance of two central Bangkok locations in the top five searches last week showed there is still a market out there for quality properties in extremely central locations.”

He added that agents are able to make great use of this valuable and up-to-date information – and direct their marketing to the locations where there is proven real demand for rental properties.

Thailand-Property.com is the number one English language property portal in Thailand, with the largest number of English language property listings, as well as being the most prolific producer of English language property news and information that matters to Thailand property buyers and investors.
