No drop in property page views

The popularity of property and real estate in Thailand has shown little signs of diminishing despite the tragic events of mid-August in Bangkok.

Page views to the websites of Dot Property Group – which include Thailand’s largest English language website www.thailand-property.com as well as the country’s fastest-growing property portal www.dotproperty.co.th – have grown by close to 20 percent when comparing the first 16 days of August against the same period this month.

The lack of decline in demand in property searches, both for property to buy and sell as well as for news and information, replicates what happened during previous periods of instability in the country over the last 10 years, when prices increased in many parts of the Kingdom despite significant negative factors that, in many other countries, would have seen substantial declines.

Adam Sutcliffe, Managing Director of Dot Property Thailand, said: “To anyone outside Thailand it may seem strange to see such a steep increase in page views to our websites, but Thailand remains resilient and is fundamentally still a strong place for property purchases.

“Our own efforts to market and grow our websites on behalf of the increasing number of clients is also one factor that has contributed to the significant increase in page views so far this month versus last month, as is the search by viewers for news and information which has grown substantially too.”
