Flip-flop at the top

On Nut overtook Bang Na to become the most-searched locations for Bangkok properties to rent by users of Thailand’s number one property website last week.

Bang Na, which held the top spot for one week on Thailand-Property.com, was relegated to second place while Ladprao leap-frogged Sukhumvit into third place, with the latter in fourth and Chong Nonsi making its first appearance in the top five rankings in fifth place since Thailand number one English language property website began publishing its top five most-searched Bangkok locations at the start of December last year.

The website’s weekly survey analysing the data for the most-searched locations for rental properties in Bangkok is now starting to show important trends.

Whilst the numbers of users seeking Bangkok rental properties have grown since the Christmas and New Year period, it is clear there are at least two different price points in the sector.

Both Bang Na and On Nut appear to have been attracting the renters looking for cheaper options but still connected to the city by the growing mass-transit network, while more central locations such as Sukhumvit and Chong Nonsi will be appealing to those with higher budgets.

Adam Sutcliffe, Managing Director of Thailand Property, said: “It’s fascinating to monitor the changes in this analytical data from week to week, and it gives an important glimpse into the minds of real people who are looking to rent in Bangkok right now.

“Clearly with On Nut and Bang Na at the top of the list the focus us very much on the far end of the Sukhumvit BTS line at the moment.

“Real estate agents, their clients and, to a certain extent, developers can make great use of this valuable and up-to-date information – and direct their marketing to the locations where there is proven real demand for rental properties.”

Thailand-Property.com is the number one English language property portal in Thailand, with the largest number of English language property listings, as well as being the most prolific producer of English language property news and information that matters to Thailand property buyers and investors.
