5 top tips for show home visits

Tips for show home visits

Tips for show home visitsWith many new property launches happening in all parts of Thailand, it’s a good idea to ensure you get the most from your trip to a show home.

Established British property developer David Wilson Homes is encouraging house hunters to pick up fresh interior design inspiration at show homes, and explore the new communities at developments they are visiting.

Many show homes in Thailand, as well as David Wilson Homes’ show homes in the United Kingdom, are styled by interior design experts so visitors will be able to pick up handy tips and ideas on how to optimise space, make existing furniture fit and how best to incorporate current design trends into their new home.

To ensure buyers get the most out of their visit, David Wilson Homes has drawn up five top tips to consider when viewing a show home:

1. Be prepared

Think about what you are looking for in your new home. It’s good to have a clear idea before you start looking. What features will you require? A certain number of bedrooms, a garden, car parking? Have a list of essential and desirable criteria to help sales advisers match you with the perfect home.

2. Make the most of the sales advisers

The sales advisers are there to help, and they should really know their stuff so make the most of them. Book an appointment if you can and allow an adviser to show you around the show home, as well as taking a tour by yourself. They’ll be able to point out features which match your needs. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and get the information you need.

3. Evaluate the space

Try to picture how best to use the rooms in the show homes to your advantage. You may have no need for a study but the room could make an excellent den for teenagers instead. Think about how the space would work for your own family and lifestyle.

4. Bring the family along

Everyone has a favourite part of the house, whether it’s the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom or garden, and your thoughts might be different to those of your partner. Everyone will have their own opinion on how you will live in your new home, so it is important that you all share your ideas on how your new home will work for you.

5. Look at the bricks and mortar

Show homes are great for providing interior design inspiration, but as well as admiring the décor, also consider the actual build of the property. New build homes are usually much more energy efficient than older properties and can save homeowners money on their bills. Check to see if the developer offers any warranty or guarantee on all fixtures and fittings.

Steve Smith, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “Buying a new home is often the biggest single investment a person will make in their lifetime and show homes create a crucial visual tool that can help people to make big decisions on their new home.

“We’ve drawn up these five tips to help people to get the most out of their visit to any show home. We’re sure buyers will come away with plenty of ideas about finding their ideal new home.”
