5 of the best Bangkok burgers

Where can you get your Bangkok burger fix?

Whilst there is much debate as to where the humble hamburger originated from, there one fact that cannot be disputed: burgers have become very fashionable of late. However a patty sandwiched by a bun just won’t do anymore. Often served on a breadboard, the quality of the meat, the tastiness of the bun and the choice of toppings are all vital components for the ultimate burger.

Having become gastro, there is now a niche of restaurants whipping up the crème de la crème of burgers. We have picked out some of the best burger joints in Bangkok for you to enjoy wherever in Bangkok you may live.

1. Burger 25 Degree at the Pullman

On the ground floor of the Pullman hotel on Silom Road is the Burger 25 Degrees. Named after the precise temperature a burger should be cooked at, Burger 25 Degrees has branches in Los Angeles, Chicago and Huntington Beach in California. The vast menu even cater for kids plus there is even the chance to craft your own burger by picking the exact fillings you want to make sure it is just as you please. With truffle French fries and spiked sodas on the menu, you will want to come back time and time again for your Bangkok burger.

2. Firehouse

Firehouse on Sukhumvit 11 pride themselves on the quality of their burgers. Using the finest and freshest ingredients, they believe it is important not to hurry the burger making process. The care and attention does not stop at the patty though as all the buns are baked by an award-winning Austrian baker. If you have small appetite opt for a mini burger or if to want to raise it a notch, then choose the ChampionChiliBurger which is smothered in their unique Champion Junkyard Dog Chili.

3. Crying Thaiger

The latest edition to arrive in bustling Thong Lor is Crying Thaiger. Another success story that started life in a burger truck on Sukhumvit Soi 38, this Bangkok burger joint plays homage to the interesting combinations of flavours served in the food as the name Crying Thaiger refers to the Thai dish of grilled steak and jim jeaw. Serving steak, and also burgers and hotdogs in lamb and pork varieties, Crying Thaiger produces some very unique combination that are a far cry from the traditional hamburger. But it works.

4. Bangers and Burgers

Like many now well established restaurants, Bangers and Burgers modest beginnings started at On Nut market at a burger stall. Now taking residency on the small road connecting Sukhumvit 18 and 20, Burgers and Bangers’ passionate owner is friendly and even bakes her own buns in house. There are six delicious burger options for their punters, so whether you are a veggie or a cheese fantic, there is something for everyone. As the name suggests sausages are available too with the option of mashed potato as an accompaniment – a much loved dish in the UK.

5. Jim’s Burgers and Beer

This teeny tiny restaurant on Ari Samphan in Ari isn’t only packed due to its didiness as it situated in a shop house, but also its mouthwatering Bangkok burgers.
