Bang Na back on top

After slipping to second place last week Bang Na has returned to the top spot as the most-searched location for rental property in Bangkok by users of Thailand’s number one English language property website last week.

Bang Na overtook previous table-topping On Nut, while Sukhumvit maintained the third place it has now occupied for three of the last four weeks according to search data from Thailand-Property.com.

Sathorn was the fourth most-searched location, the first time it has appeared in the top five locations this year, while Ari came fifth – the first time that district has appeared in the top five list since Thailand-Property.com began reporting the most-searched rental locations at the start of December 2015. On that occasion it also came fifth.

As predicted some weeks ago, the weekly survey analysing data for the most-searched locations for rental properties in Bangkok is show conclusive trends.

Since the start of the year Bang Na and On Nut have swapped the top two positions, and this appears to confirm a trend that Bangkok renters are looking further afield for larger and cheaper units – and are willing to sacrifice travel times in the process.

Sukhumvit has been a regular in every top five list for the previous two months, underlining there is still demand for centrally-located rental properties. The appearance of Sathorn last week also confirms this fact.

Adam Sutcliffe, Managing Director of Dot Property Group (Thailand), said: “It’s absolutely fascinating to monitor these week-to-week changes in rental preferences, and it gives an important glimpse into the minds of real people who are looking to rent in Bangkok right now.”

He again stressed that Bangkok real estate agents, their clients and, to a certain extent, property developers can make great use of this valuable and up-to-date information – and direct their marketing to the locations where there is proven and current real demand for rental properties.”

Thailand-Property.com is the number one English language property portal in Thailand, with the largest number of English language property listings, as well as being the most prolific producer of English language property news and information that matters to Thailand property buyers and investors.
